Climbing Day at Tafelberg

- RCC offers guided trips for rock climbing at Tafelberg north face wall, this journey starts with hiking the trail up to approach the base of the wall, then rest of the day top rope climbing while learning basic techniques and belaying skills in an amazing scenic spot.
· All equipment is included.
· Transportation from office to trail head and back is included.
· Attendees must bring water and snacks for the day.
· It requires a minimum of two people.
· Check in is at 8:30 am at the RCC office. (Signing the waiver.)
· Journey starts approximately at 9:00 am
· Advance booking is preferred.
· Walk-ins are welcome before 8:30 am
· Advance booking needed for large groups (more than 8 people)
· The climbing is resumed at 4 pm, then hike down the trail.
The Tafelberg; The Tafelberg mesa is in southeastern Curaçao, near the Santa Barbara beach. It is 196.1 meters (643 ft) high, making it the fourth-highest point on Curaçao. The earliest written reference to the Santa Barbara plantation, where the Tafelberg is situated, and covers an area of about 1200 hectares, dates to the 16th century.
Tafelberg is the most iconic mountain in Curacao; this amazing formation is in the premises of Santa Barbara Plantation. “It stands out rather distinctively amid the mostly flat surroundings around Spanish Waters Bay in southeastern Curacao, a jagged peak rising steeply to one side giving way to a flat plateau on the other.”
